UK confectioner Lees Foods has said that it aims to grow through acquisitions after posting a 6% rise in full-year profits.

“We are currently looking out for acquisitions that could compliment our existing business,” a spokesperson for the group told just-food today (18 May).
Lees pre-tax profits rose to GBP631,309 (US$1.2m) during 2006, driven by a 7% rise in sales, which totalled GBP14.5m.
The spokesperson added that Lees was also maintaining its focus on “innovation and product development” to maintain sales growth.
