When this story was originally published on 1 November, we reported that Chris Britton had left the company to spend more time with his family. Britton has not left the company and remains CEO of Findus Group. As reported in October, Findus Group’s managing director of its UK and Irish operations, Mark Escolme, left the company to spend more time with his family.
Mars Inc executive David Bell will join frozen-food firm Findus Group in the New Year as commercial director for the company’s UK and Irish business.
Bell was most recently senior sales director for Mars’ UK chocolate business but, after 20 years with the confectionery giant, he has decided to take a newly-created role at Findus.
Bell will be responsible for channel and customer strategy as well as category management across Findus’ frozen business in the UK and Ireland. He will report to Leendert den Hollander, MD of Findus’ operations in the two markets.
Den Hollander said: “I am excited about the plans we have for 2011 and beyond and the quality of the team we are assembling to deliver them. We have three immediate priorities: to reignite sustainable growth, strengthen our brands and build a reputation as a category partner with our customers.”
Den Hollander took the MD role last month after his predecessor Mark Escolme decided to leave the business to spend more time with his family.
