Mars UK has recalled batches of its Maltesers and Revels products, due to the possible presence of small pieces of rubber thought to have originated from a failed rubber seal.

A Mars spokesperson has said the rubber was inert and non-digestible.
A statement on the Food Stadards Agency website said the company is issuing product recall notices in the national press today (5 September ) and point of sale notices will be displayed in all its outlets supplied with the products.
No other Mars products are known to be affected.
Maltesers recalled are in all sizes packaged within bags, pouches, boxes Pick N Mix or pots and bearing Best Before dates: 16/12/2007; 23/12/2007; 30/12/2007; 06/01/2008.
