There were fears for the Llandyrnog factory after dairy co-operative Dairy Farmers of Britain (DFB) went into receivership last week.

However, a spokesperson for the group told just-food: “We’ve reached an agreement on the terms of the acquisition. We are hoping to complete on Friday 12 June.”

Milk Link said the agreement will secure the future of the cheese creamery, safeguarding jobs and providing a “secure outlet” for milk produced by approximately 300 farmers.

“We’re running a series of meetings with farmers who supplied Dairy Farmers’ to try and recruit them. We’re offering a very competitive price for milk,” the spokesperson said.
