“I can categorically deny that we are going online,” a spokesperson for the company told just-food.


The rumours that Morrisons is preparing a home shopping service were “without foundation”, the spokesperson added.


Morrisons posted robust results last year and, at the beginning of this month, reported first-quarter like-for-like sales growth of 7%.


However, a number of industry watchers have suggested that the group could be missing an opportunity with its failure to launch an online service.
