Morrisons has recalled four of its own-label salads over fears that the products could be contaminated with salmonella.

The effected products include the UK retailer’s bistro style salad twin pack and bistro style salad, with use-by dates of 14 June.
Morrisons has also recalled its cheddar, tomato and egg layered salad and its layered garden salad, with use-by dates of 12 June.
The supermarket chain discovered the presence of salmonella during routine testing.
“We immediately withdrew all stock from stores and depots and issued point of sale to each store advising customers who had bought these products not to eat them, but return them to their nearest Morrisons store for a full refund,” Morrisons said.

By GlobalDataThe recall is the second of its kind in less than two months – on 27 April, Morrisons was forced to recall its own-brand mixed leafy salad with red chard when routine checks found the product was contaminated with salmonella.
A spokesperson for the retailer told just-food that the two recalls were “entirely unconnected”, but was unable to confirm whether the salads were produced by the same supplier in each case.
