Nestle is to add to its sugar confectionery range in the UK with the launch of Rowntree’s Sour Pastilles.
The products will go on sale on 4 April and will be available in 48g bags containing sour flavours of lime, blackcurrant, pineapple, cherry and lemon.

The new line will be promoted with TV and digital activity from 1 May, Nestle said.
Graham Walker, Nestle UK trade communications manager, said: “We have clearly indentified a gap in the market – the combination of a hugely popular brand and an increasing appetite for sour products means Rowntree’s Sour Pastilles will deliver exactly what consumers are looking for.”
Nestle said Rowntree’s had enjoyed “phenomenal growth” over the past 12 months within the UK convenience channel, with sales up 10% in the year to 1 January to GBP31m (US$50.8m), according to IRI data.
