Discount retailer Netto has withdrawn a batch of its own brand Fresh Chicken Fillets after the product was found to be contaminated with fly larvae.

According to a statement, the 454g packs of chicken with a use by date of 11 August have been withdrawn from shelves and recall notices have been put up at its store in Rushden, where the problem was discovered.
Netto declined to comment further on the recall, but confirmed that it is cooperating with the UK’s Food Standards Agency in the matter.
