The Northern Ireland food group TS Foods has launched a new brand of potato-based ready-to-eat dishes called Laurel and Steele, aimed at the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

The first three products in the new range are a Vegetable Bake, available in a 600g tray, a Cauliflower Cheese and a Potato Gratin, both of which come in 450g trays. All feature the strapline ‘Good Food from the heart of the Mournes’. TS Foods is based in Castlewellan in County Down, which is situated in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains.

TS Foods director Ann Steele said the new range was “a significant move for the company into a new market we pinpointed from extensive research”.

Steele continued: “Innovation has been at the heart of our business since we started in 1978. We’ve built the business in the UK and Ireland by responding quickly to opportunities that we identify as new or different requests from clients in both retail and catering sectors for food products that they need for their customers.”

TS Foods produces convenience meals and chicken, bacon, cheese and potato snacks for a variety of major retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda and Aldi.
