Vega technical director Liz Butler commented: “The mushroom extract Champex™ has been shown to suppress chemicals such as hydrogen sulphide, mercaptan and ammonia which are generated in the intestines and can lead to body odour. If these and other similar chemicals pass into the blood stream they can impose a heavy burden on the liver and kidney.
“The mushroom also provides a rich source of amino acids as well as the deodorising and detoxification features.”
The company attributes its success to the combined experience of itself and the Champex supplier Direct Food Ingredients Ltd, which is also involved in marketing the product and educating consumers on its health benefits.
