The McVitie’s maker has faced fierce criticism in recent weeks amid claims that it is planning to move 170 jobs to India.


According to reports in the UK, United Biscuits workers yesterday (30 April) had a lunchtime protest outside United Biscuits’ Binns Road site in Liverpool.


However, a spokesperson for United Biscuits insisted the group had yet to come to a decision on whether to revamp its UK business.


“No decisions have been made about a restructuring programme nor would any decisions be made until full consultation with the relevant stakeholders had been completed,” the spokesperson told just-food.
