Online grocer Ocado has today (13 April) announced the promotion of Lawrence Hene into the new role of head of grocery retail.
Hene joined Ocado in 2009 as head of corporate finance and investor relations, and was involved in the UK group’s IPO last year.

He will sit on the Ocado management committee, report to the Ocado executive board and will assume responsibility for the new role with immediate effect.
The trading, own-brand, marketing and customer experience and key supplier liaison teams will all report to Hene.
“He has been an outstanding colleague since joining us in 2009; he was instrumental in our flotation and understands all areas of our business,” said CEO Tim Steiner. “These changes demonstrate the strength and depth of the Ocado management team. We are sure Lawrence will inspire and lead the Grocery Retail team to deliver an even better experience for Ocado customers.”
