“The two shareholders believe that there are further opportunities to utilise the business and increase profits,” a spokesperson for Westbury told just-food today (1 May).
The company declined to comment on what those opportunities may be for “competitive reasons”. However, Westbury said that the moves would be building on changes already seen at the dairy.
“We made a small profit last year, which was an improvement on the performance from the last few years. About eighteen months ago the [then] three shareholders took back operational control of the business. They then lowered costs and increased efficiency,” Westbury told just-food.
Westbury is a balancing facility that produces milk powder and butter for food processors.
