Pot Noodle has been voted the UK’s least favourite brand, according to a poll for the magazine Marketing.
According to the poll of 11,000 consumers, Unilever’s snack food brand Pot Noodle beat shopping channel QVC and juice drink Sunny D to the position, reported the Guardian. In fourth place was fastfood chain McDonald’s, while discount retailer Lidl was at number seven and low-fat snack food Snack-a-Jacks came in at number nine.
A spokeswoman for Unilever Best Foods, which makes Pot Noodle, said the product is aimed at 16- to 24-year-old males, while 65% of those that voted against Pot Noodle in the survey were female.
As for consumers’ favourite brands, search engine Google claimed the top spot, while mobile phone maker Nokia took second place and UK supermarket chain Tesco took third place. Wal-Mart’s Asda was sixth in the survey, while frozen food brand Birds Eye was in eighth place.
