Hartley’s Fruit Toppers will be launched at the end of the month and are targeted at families with children, as a way of “encouraging their kids to eat a healthier option.”


The sauces, made with 70% “pure” fruit, are an additional line to the company’s growing range of squeezy products and will be available in Raspberry, Blackcurrant and Tropical flavours.


“Sauces is one of the biggest ambient desserts sectors and is key to driving category growth,” said Helen Touchais, Hartley’s marketing controller. “The kids sauces sector offers a real opportunity to grow the category through healthier NPD.”


In a sauce market worth GBP17.4m (US$34.5m), Hartleys last year delivered around 60% of the desserts category growth and over 50% of the individual sector growth.
