Premier Foods, the UK’s largest food group, has appointed three board members.

The company, which makes brands including Branston pickle and Quorn meat-free products, has appointed Christine Cross and David Beever as non-executive directors and Suzanne Wise as general counsel and company secretary with effect from today (21 January).


Cross has spent 14 years in senior management roles at Tesco, while Beever was previously a non-executive director of JJB Sports. Wise was group head of legal for Gallaher Group.


Commenting on the appointments, David Kappler, chairman of Premier Foods said: “These appointments further strengthen the Premier Foods plc board. The background and experience of Christine, David and Suzanne are especially relevant to the Company as we move ahead during this exciting period of transformation.”


Earlier this month, Premier saw its shares tumble after warning of continued cost pressure this year.
