Quaker Oats has recalled some of its own-brand Quaker Oats Original and Jumbo Oats from UK shelves due to possible contamination with beetles.

The 1.5kg Original and 1kg Jumbo Rolled Oats are understood to possibly contain a beetle known as the ‘confused flower beetle’ (Tribolium confusum).

The Food Standards Agency issued a food alert yesterday (17 November).

The products being recalled have a best before date of 11 July 2009 and day codes of 191, 192 or 193.

The product has only been distributed to Tesco stores only.
