The Cornwall-based business has secured listings with four Russian retailers, including the country’s largest grocer X5 Retail Group.

Furniss national account manager David Roberts said ten of the company’s biscuit brands will go on sale in cities including Moscow and St. Petersburg ahead of Christmas in Russia, which is celebrated on 7 January.

“Russia’s biscuit market is growing at 18%, well ahead of the market in Europe and the UK,” Roberts told just-food today (14 December). “British foods are perceived as high quality in Russia and we at Furniss believe we can offer something different.”

Roberts said Furniss, which was acquired last year by privately-owned firm Proper Cornish Foods, has also attracted interest from France, the US and Hong Kong.
