Sir Peter Davis, CEO of supermarket giant J. Sainsbury, has been asked to head a government-backed inquiry into the responsibilities of non-executive directors in UK corporations.
The inquiry has been organised as a response to the recent collapse of energy giant Enron and other UK corporations.
Trade and industry secretary Patricia Hewitt is expected to announce the details of the review in a Mansion House speech tonight [Wednesday].
