UK retailer Sainsbury’s has added a selection of bakery products to its private-label free-from range.

The company, which said today (21 January) that it was the first “major” retailer to develop a free-from portfolio, has added four bakery SKUs to the range, including sliced white bread and white rolls.

Sainsbury’s launched its free-from range in 2002 and said the portfolio now numbers around 200 products.

A spokesperson said: “We’re proud to be able to add such a delicious selection of fresh bakery products to the free-from range and a variety of meal ideas. Whether it’s a fish finger butty or brownie you’re craving we know how difficult it can be to enjoy good food with an allergy or food intolerance.”

Earlier this week, Sainsbury’s unveiled additions to its healthy-eating Be Good To Yourself own-label range.
