The labels, which have been developed by Leading Edge, are made from 100% recycled paper. In addition, being a natural cellulose fibre based product, the paper components are fully biodegradable, according to Leading Edge.
The new line of labelling will be available exclusively to Sainsbury’s, which started phasing the labels in from the end of August 2004 across all of its organic produce range.
