Frias avocados offer 30% less fat than Hass avocados while containing the same amount of vitamins and minerals. Avocados are a good source of heart-healthy monounsaturated fat, Vitamin E, B-vitamins, fibre, potassium and folic acid.
Sainsbury’s avocado buyer Chris Wells commented on the launch: “Generally people love to eat avocado but feel it is something that needs be eaten in moderation; with this new variety our customers can enjoy this favoured fruit without feeling guilty -ideal as the New Year resolutions kick in.”
