UK retailer Sainsbury’s has launched a recall of bagged watercress and salads containing watercress over fears it is linked to an e.coli outbreak that has sickened 15 people.

The Food Standards Agency said this morning (13 September) products included in the recall include By Sainsbury’s Watercress Leaves 75g; By Sainsbury’s Watercress; Spinach and Rocket salad 100g; By Sainsbury’s Watercress, Spinach and Rocket 170g; By Sainsbury’s Watercress twin pack2 x 35g; So Organic Watercress 75g; and So Organic Watercress, Spinach and Rocket, 100g.

Investigations by the FSA, Public Health England and local authorities are continuing, the regulator said in a statement.

Sainsbury’s is testing all affected lines and no trace of e.coli 0157 has yet been detected.
