Singapore has lifted a ban on beef from the UK, put in place following the identification of BSE.
Three beef plants, including one owned by meat giant Dunbia, have been given the green light to export to Singapore, a market that could be worth GBP10m (US$16.4m) a year, the UK government said.

The producers will now be able to export cuts of deboned beef from cattle aged thirty months to Singapore, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said.
Northern Ireland-based WD Meats, Dovecote Park, located in Yorkshire, and Dunbia’s site in Sawley have been approved to export beef to Singapore. Their sister sites have also been given the all-clear.
