UK supermarket group Somerfield is reportedly considering selling off its portfolio of freehold properties.

According to a report in the Financial Times, Somerfield has instructed Citigroup to sell or refinance the remaining 230 freehold properties in its 940-store portfolio.
The freehold properties have been valued at around GBP1.3bn (US$2.6bn).
Somerfield was unavailable for comment at time of press.
