UK grocer Somerfield is to return to the country’s TV screens tonight (12 September) for the first time in almost two years.
The retailer will launch a campaign aimed to position the company as “Britain’s favourite local grocer shop”.
The ad push is Somerfield’s first since a private equity consortium bought the company in 2005.
Julie Ward, Somerfield’s head of marketing communications, said: “The new TV campaign reflects our business focus on building Somerfield’s reputation as the nation’s favourite local grocer and to growing our share of convenience shopping missions.”
The campaign will feature Somerfield on national TV everyday until March 2008.
