Stanelco announced in November that it had agreed to commence commercial trials of high integrity sealing of Microwaveable Food Trays (CPET) and Foil food trays with one Asda supplier.

“The first trial is progressing satisfactorily and I anticipate encouraging progress in the New Year on several fronts,” said Asda’s Tony Ruane.

In addition to this trial other previously announced trials will be commencing in early January 2005, the company said.

Stanelco said its RF technology eliminates leaking trays, is 20% more efficient in terms of materials costs and is more energy efficient. The trays are fully recyclable.
