UK jam and marmalade maker Streamline Foods is targeting kids with its latest launch – the Fruit Shoot range of squeezy jams in a licencing deal from Britvic.

The range is available in the same three flavours: Apple & Blackcurrant; Strawberry & Summer Fruits; and Orange. Each product will contain 30% less sugar than its standard jams and be made with 45% pure fruit.

Séverine Brault, marketing manager for Streamline Foods, said: “Parents are increasingly looking for ways to reduce their children’s sugar intake, while the kids themselves are more concerned with how it tastes. The squeezy jams taste extraordinarily similar to the drinks and we are confident that we are filling a gap in the existing market with these products. It’s all part of a longer term strategy within the market to reduce sugar and slowly change children’s palates.”

The range will launch this summer in Asda and Tesco with an RSP of GBP1.59 (US$2.70) for a 300g bottle.
