Tangerine Confectionery has said that it will close its manufacturing facility in Poole, Dorset, with the expected loss of around 75 jobs.
The company said the decision came in the wake of an internal review of the group’s UK-wide manufacturing capabilities and would enable Tangerine to remain “competitive” by “maximising its production capabilities”.

“With increasingly tough market conditions, Tangerine Confectionery needs to ensure it runs efficiently and this has resulted in the decision to move production to our other sites, CEO Graham Hunter commented.
Worker consultations will begin immediately, the group added.
A spokesperson for the company told just-food that Poole currently produces a “wide range of gums, jellies and foam products for private label purposes”. The company currently plans to transfer production to other Tangerine sites, but has not yet decided where.
“All key customers have been notified and they will experience no disruption to their orders,” the spokesperson emphasised.
