UK-based sugar group Tate & Lyle has named Dr Robert Fisher as its new head of global research and development. He succeeds Dr Bob Schanefelt who is retiring.
Fisher, who holds a PhD in Food Science, was most recently executive director and chief operating officer at the International Life Science Institute, North America. Previously, he was executive vice president, business development and new technology at the hops producer John I. Haas, and also held an R&D post at The Campbell Soup Company.
“We welcome Bob Fisher, who brings strong scientific and business leadership skills and significant experience in both consumer goods and agri-processing,” said Tate & Lyle chief operating officer Stanley Musesengwa. “We look forward to continuing our progress in value added ingredient research and development under Bob’s leadership.”
