Under the agreement, ECT, through its Retail Services arm, will provide Internet-based energy and equipment monitoring technology at 585 Tesco-owned stores in the UK. Installation of this technology is now under way.

In addition, 275 of these stores will undergo Emerson’s patent-pending E-Commissioning program, a comprehensive energy audit and continuous monitoring process for a supermarket’s refrigeration, HVAC, lighting and building control systems to restore peak operating and energy efficiency.

Created two years ago, the Retail Services arm of ECT is the leading provider of energy and site monitoring services for the US supermarket industry and other retail chains. More than 2,000 store locations currently use Emerson’s remote energy monitoring and services. Tesco becomes Retail Services’ first major supermarket customer based outside of the US.

“We are very proud to have been selected by Tesco to help it achieve its business objective of reducing its operating costs through improved energy consumption practices,” said Paul Wickberg, president of Emerson Retail Services.
