Scottish Slimmers Wildly Healthy Venison Sausages are available across 91 stores in Scotland, the company said today (19 October), and follows Sainsbury’s and David Sands in offering the product.

The product contains 55 calories, a fat content of 2g and less than 3% saturated fat per sausage, the retailer has claimed.

Tesco said the venison meat has a lower fat content than other red meats including beef and lamb.

“Venison is ideal for people who need to reduce their cholesterol intake as it’s extremely low in cholesterol. It’s also becoming increasingly popular with young children and health conscious individuals who are watching their waistline,” the retailer added.
