Tesco chief information officer Mike McNamara said: “Our systems infrastructure needs to work for our IT team in order to do their job for our customers, our colleagues and our suppliers. We rely on CA Technologies software to tame a very big, distributed, heterogeneous infrastructure. We are very pleased to extend our long-standing relationship with CA Technologies into a third decade.”

CA Technologies will manage and monitor Tesco’s global IT infrastructure across the entire Tesco Group, including Tesco Bank, Tesco.com and Tesco Mobile. Tesco will be able to view the performance of its IT supply chain, including mainframe, desktop computers, servers, networks, credit card transactions, suppliers and supply orders.

Tesco selected CA Technologies IT management solutions to consolidate its IT infrastructure, while providing customers with a “consistently good service experience”, the UK supermarket chain said.

“We have been a strategic IT partner to Tesco for the past 20 years and are delighted to further develop our relationship with this new investment,” Colin Bannister, CA Technologies’ CTO and vice president of technical sales in the UK and Ireland, added.
