UK chocolate maker Thorntons has seen half-year revenues jump almost 14%, despite a “challenging” retail environment, the company said today (20 February).

Turnover reached GBP126.7m (US$246.1m), a rise of 13.9%. Pre-tax profits climbed 14% to GBP11.9m.
“While the retail sector continues to be challenging, the Company remains on course to meet market expectations,” chief executive Mike Davies said.
