TMI Foods, a UK manufacturer of cooked bacon, sausages and roasted vegetables, has named Christian Binney as head of food innovation.

Binney, 34, has joined TMI from Honeytop Speciality Foods, where he was responsible for the development of the company’s range of naan breads, tortillas and other flatbreads. Before Honeytop, he worked for Uniq in production management.

MD David Abbott said the appointment “underlined” TMI’s “commitment” to innovation. He added: “New product development is central to our future growth plans, with speciality bacons and reduced fat and salt products among many innovations TMI Foods has introduced recently into the marketplace.”

TMI is owned by Irish firm Dawn Farm Foods, which acquired the business in 2006. It supplies cooked ingredients to retail, manufacturing and foodservice customers throughout the UK and western Europe.
