Christopher Jackman, a Conservative on Basildon Council in Essex, has been questioned by police after selling thousands of hemp lollipops at the Edinburgh Festival. The police were called in after parents expressed concern that their children were buying the lollies, which sold for 50p (US$0.77) each and smelled of the psychotic drug cannabis.

The police were called in after parents expressed concern that their children were buying the lollies, which sold for 50p (US$0.77) each and smelled of the psychotic drug cannabis.
While Jackman insisted that the sweets are completely legal, they have been criticised by anti-drug groups in Scotland. Police are now believed to be conducting forensic tests on the sweets.
