Asda, the UK unit of Wal-Mart, will stock new Ummah Orange and Ummah Caramel Chocolate bars in selected UK stores.

This is the second mainstream UK supermarket to carry Ummah’s halal chocolates in an attempt to cater to the Muslim community. Tesco, the UK’s largest supermarket operator, began testing the market by stocking Ummah chocolates in selected stores in September.

The chocolate bars will be launched in six Asda London stores: Beckton, Colindale, Leyton, Park Royal, Thamstow and Wembley.

By listing confectionery from Ummah Foods, Asda hopes to broaden its appeal to the Muslim market, the company said.
