Unilever has appointed Paul Nevett as global vice president for of the company’s brand as part of efforts to build the manufacturer’s corporate reputation.

Describing the strategy behind the move, chief marketing officer Keith Weed said: “The Unilever brand is an as yet untapped resource for the business. Our corporate reputation has a big contribution to make in the successful marketing of our brands and products globally and we’re looking to leverage it with the two billion consumers who use our products every day.”

Nevett will oversee the brand’s development with Ogilvey & Mather, who were recently appointed to the account. He was previously VP marketing, foods for the UK and Ireland. Hazel Detsiny will replace him in the role.

Detsiny joined the company in 2005 and was previously the talent and organisation director, marketing for the UK and Ireland.
