Food giant Unilever is to launch a Marmite cereal bar for the UK market.
The new addition to the Marmite portfolio will hit the shelves next week and be supported by a GBP1.5m marketing push that will start in February, the company said today.
Noam Buchalter, Marmite brand manager at Unilever UK, said: “This is the world’s first savoury cereal bar and consumers really will either love it or hate it. Marmite is an iconic breakfast spread and we have identified an opportunity to extend our success within this growing market. The Marmite cereal bar, in addition to our already successful range of snacking products, gives consumers the ultimate Marmite experience on the go.
Buchalter added: “The launch is set to add incremental value to the cereal bar category by increasing frequency of purchase among Marmite lovers who already enjoy cereal bars in addition to attracting new users to the category.”
Marmite cereal bars, Unilever claims, are rich in B-vitamins, high in fibre and contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
