Unilever is to launch a range of pizzas under its Peperami brand for the UK market.

The seven-inch pizzas, available from mid-September, will be available in three variants; Original, Spicy and BBQ.

The launch will also benefit from GBP4m (US$6m) of marketing spend invested in the Peperami brand this year.

Julie McCleave, commercial manager for licensing at Unilever, said: “Customers can expect the same high quality ingredients as with the salami snack and the pizza includes a high tech microwavable disc to ensure a crispy base prepared in three minutes.”
 
The Peperami pizzas will be produced and sold under license by Bakkavor. The product will be available in two case sizes; eight for large retailers and cases of four for smaller, convenience stores. 

The pizzas retail at GBP1.99.
