The company said it was “aggressively” seeking sites suitable for stores of more than 40,000 sq ft, reported The Financial Times. Possible sites for the London stores include Hampstead, Notting Hill and Fulham. The new stores would act as a pilot for possible future expansion in France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.


Whole Foods, which operates 150 stores in the US, bought ten-store UK organic food chain Fresh & Wild earlier this year. The company has targeted a store count of 300 and revenues of US$10bn by 2010, compared to $3.1bn last year.
