Speaking to The Times, commercial director Richard Hodgson said Waitrose is looking to add to its stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh and is eyeing expansion into four other cities including Aberdeen and Perth.

“There is clearly untapped potential in all the conurbations in Scotland. We have a property team looking at sites all the time,” Hodgson told the paper.

Earlier this month, Waitrose announced plans to open its first store in Glasgow by November. It already has two outlets in Edinburgh, the Scottish capital.

However, despite Hodgson’s reported comments to The Times, Waitrose was unwilling to comment further.
