The six unusual varieties – chilli and chocolate, onion bhaji, Cajun squirrel, fish and chips, crispy duck and hoi sin, and builder’s breakfast – will be available in supermarkets until May, when a public vote will decide the ultimate winner.
The winning flavour will remain on sale.
Each finalist will receive GBP10,000 (US$15,225), while the winner will be awarded GBP50,000 and 1% of all profits.
The competition has generated a considerable amount of public interest. Walkers had originally expected about 250,000 entries into the competition, however, it actually received about 1.2m flavour suggestions.
