UK luxury coffee and tea retailer has said like-for-like sales for the 30 weeks to 26 December were 3.7% ahead of the corresponding period last year.
However, the company said performance in December, including the crucial pre-Christmas period, was slightly below expectation.
Whittard added that pre-tax profit for the half year to 28 November is in line with its expectations.
