UK dairy firm Yeo Valley is to expand its product range with the launch of a soured cream product.

The new line, which will be available from 17 June, is aimed at offering consumers “a light alternative for baking or to accompany savoury dishes”, the company said today (12 June). The cream will be available in a 300g pack with an RRP of GBP1.29 (US$2).

Yeo Valley has also redesigned the packaging for its compote range, which features “vibrant, hand-illustrated” designs.

“Since spring, all of our products have had new packaging designed to illustrate the delicious Yeo Valley taste and our creams and compotes are the latest to undergo this refreshed look,” said Yeo Valley managing director Tim Mead. “Our aim has been not only to reflect our great tasting dairy, but also to demonstrate our ethos as an independent, family farming business from the West Country, helping to support other family farms.
