Agro-industrial company MHP saw its poultry production volumes increase for the year ended 31 December, boosted by production at its Myronivka plant.
MHP’s poultry and poultry related operations segment performed “strongly” despite the “challenging” economic conditions in Ukraine,” the firm said today (1 February).

During the year, the company increased its monthly poultry production volumes and sales by almost 50% on 2008 due to the launch of “phase two” of its Myronivka poultry farm, the company’s new production facility.
Average chicken meat sales prices to third parties for the full year increased by 6.4% to UAH12.79 (US$1.60) per kg against 2008.
MHP said it produced “a good harvest” in 2009 with the yields of crops per hectare “significantly higher” than Ukraine’s average, which overall produced a high yield of crops.
For the full year, sausage and cooked meat production volumes increased by 53.8% to 24,600 tonnes compared to 16,000 tonnes in 2008.

By GlobalDataAverage prices for sausage and cooked meat during 2009 fell by 5% to UAH17.33 per kg excluding VAT in line with consumer demand and the company’s strategy of shifting its product portfolio towards mass-market products.
Financial results for the full-year are expected to be announced in April.
