Roshen Corporation, the Ukrainian confectioner, posted a 31% jump in sales year-on-year, with revenue reported for fiscal 2008 increasing to US$850m.
Total production volume rose 3% in 3008, increasing to 360,000 tonnes, the group revealed.
The volume of confectionery for the Ukrainian market was also up 3%, rising to 155,000 tonnes, Roshen said in a statement.
A spokesperson for the company told just-food that gains were driven by new product development.
“We introduced a variety of chocolate and sugar confectionery products during the year… such as Roshen Elegance Citrus pieces…. This helped our sales grow,” the spokesperson said.
