This is the second acquisition made by Troyanda in the last six months, and the company said that it enable it to increase production and sales of ice cream by an additional 50%, propelling it to a leadership position in the industry.

In the Q1 2002, Troyanda’s sales reached US$1m, outperforming the same period of the last year by 50%. “Notwithstanding Troyanda’s first capacity expansion at the end of 2001, strong demand for our popular brands has continued to exceed our production capacities”,
explained Anatoliy Masyutkin, Troyanda’s director. “This second acquisition ensures that all our loyal customers can buy Troyanda ice cream.”

PoltavaKholod has a strong product portfolio. The factory has five modern operational lines and two deep freeze warehouse facilities. PoltavaKholod’s manufacturing strength complements Troyanda’s experience in developing brands, building and managing efficient distribution systems. In April 2002, Troyanda successfully launched a nationwide advertising campaign to promote brand awareness and support its aggressive sales growth.

“Two consecutive acquisitions within such a short period of time, as well as the dramatic growth that Troyanda has demonstrated, provide clear evidence of [the benefits of] Troyanda’s management team and a well-developed strategy,” said Natalie A. Jaresko, president and CEO of Western NIS Enterprise Fund, of which Troyanda is a portfolio company.
