UK wholesale retailer Booker is planning to open two more stores in India.
The company, which published its half-year results today (14 October), said it wants to add two outlets to its current store in Mumbai.
“Our branch in India is performing well. By Spring 2011 we plan to have a further two open,” Booker said.
Booker provided no further details on the financial performance of its store in Mumbai when it reported its financial results and, when contacted by just-food, Booker declined to comment.
In May, Booker said it expected to open one store in India each year until 2013, when it expects to make a profit of GBP1.5m (US$2.4m).
