Peeled Baby Carrots or Grimmway Classic Cut and Peeled Baby one-pound Carrots are unsafe to eat, announced the retailer, if their “Best If Used By” date is 17 June 2006 or lot number is 138221E6.

Albertsons has released the warning after being made aware by supplier, Grimmway foods, that a single bag of the carrots concerned tested positive for Salmonella in Canada.

“There have been no subsequent positive tests or any illness or consumer complaints associated with these products.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Albertsons urges California customers who may have these products in their homes to return it to their nearest Albertsons for a full refund or replacement. Customers who have questions may also call Grimmway Farms at 1-800-301-3101,” Albertsons said.
